SHOWROOM CONFITION ALL NEW BOTTOM PAINT US COASTGAURD APPROVED JUST HAD INSPECTION AUGUST 07 AVAILIBLE UPON REQUEST SSUES OR OTHER Early into model year 2002, Sea Ray identified a problem that most boat companies would love to have. A survey of Sea Ray owners looking to move up from their Sea Ray 20- to 30-foot boats revealed a pent-up demand for a Sundancer model to fit the gap between the 340 Sundancer Sport Cruiser and the 380 Sundancer Sport Yacht. When Sea Ray owners talk, Sea Ray listens. With the introduction of the new Sea Ray 360 Sundancer in the spring of 2002, Sea Ray now has five Sundancer models in the 30- to 40-foot range. The 360 Sundancer replaces the 380 Sundancer as the smallest boat in the Sea Ray Sport Yacht division. Like all Sea Ray express cruisers, the 360 Sundancer seems to have the perfect balance of cockpit space and cabin roominess. With seating for 10 and a layout that allows for lounging or entertaining, the cockpit on the 360 Sundancer is an attention-getter. The passageway from the transom door to the cabin door is virtually a straight line down the port side of the cockpit, passing by the refreshment centre that includes a wet bar, an icemaker and three storage cabinets. A cockpit table that can be lowered and converted into a large sunpad with filler cushions fits neatly between the removable aft bench seats and the aft facing bench seat. The helm is on its own level, providing a better view over the bow and increased headroom in the mid-cabin directly below. A flip-up cushion makes standing at the helm easy and comfortable. Beside the adjustable swiveling captain's seat is a passenger bench with room for two and storage beneath. Four backlit gauges are up high in clear view, with a Raymarine Tridata and 12-volt switches easy to reach and well labeled below. A separate dash panel accommodates the standard Raymarine GPS, and has room for optional factory-installed electronics such as a chartplotter and radar. Other helm features of note include a monitoring system that warns of any engine or pump malfunction, an electrically operated vent in the windshield, and a beautiful solid wood steering wheel. Four steps down from the cockpit, the 360's cabin is roomy and practical. The head compartment is located on the port side right at the foot of the cabin steps, making it easy to access from both the cabin and the cockpit. In the well-equipped galley, there are separate refrigerator and freezer compartments; counter space can be maximized because both the sink and two-burner stove have Corian covers. As in the cockpit, Sea Ray has installed a handrail along the full length of the galley. Opposite, there is a curved sofa that converts into a double berth and a dinette table designed to store under the forward berth. The forward cabin is separated from the salon area by a full bulkhead with a pocket door, and features an island berth, hanging locker to port, cupboard to starboard and aircraft-style storage bins on both sides. A large screened porthole opens from the mid-cabin into the cockpit and a privacy drape separates this cabin from the salon. Adding to overall comfort is a 16,000 BTU reverse cycle air conditioning system and a 7.0 kW Westerbeke generator, both included as standard equipment. An upscale look is achieved with cherry laminate cabinetry and trim throughout. While diesel power is available, the 360 Sundancer we tested on the Intracoastal Waterway in North Palm Beach, Florida, was perfectly matched for the 740 total horsepower provided by twin MerCruiser 8.1 Horizons. We were up on plane in 5.4 seconds, and accelerated to 20 mph in 8.5 seconds and to 30 mph in 15.34 seconds. At 3,500 rpm the 360 cruises beautifully at 27. 5 mph. With the throttles all the way down, we recorded a top speed of 34.6 mph at 4,500 rpm. While Sea Ray's primary goal of introducing the 360 Sundancer was to satisfy the needs of their loyal customers, a boat this good is bound to appeal to any discerning boater who appreciates style, performance and quality.
